7 Deadly sins

"7 Deadly sins" è contenuta nel disco "Traveling Wilburys Vol.3", che in realtà è il loro secondo e ultimo album che con ironia tutta "british" decisero di chiamare volume tre.

Per questa seconda fatica il gruppo passa purtroppo da cinque a quattro elementi per la morte di Roy Orbison, avvenuta il 6 dicembre 1988.

La canzone è stata probabilmente scritta da Bob Dylan, che non a caso si prende l'onore di cantarla.

Lo stile della canzone si rifà a quello "doo-wop" degli anni '50, stile "Platters" per intenderci.

La canzone si apre con la band che armonizza sulla parola "seven", per poi elencare i sette peccati capitali, rivisitati ad hoc per la canzone.

Sia il testo che la musica non hanno molte pretese, una canzone molto orecchiabile ma che manca di quel mordente e di quella profondità a cui spesso le canzoni di Dylan c'hanno abituato.
In questa canzone Harrison fa i cori e suona la chitarra ritmica.
